Luthero

A post from the archive.

At the moment I am working on an edit of photo's taken whilst living in Spain, near the village of Villa Hermosa.

I just found Luthero and couldn't resist posting him.  He was the seriously cheeky donkey of a local sculptor Pepe, who lived in a remote mountain village nearby.

I'll post more of the story soon, but for now meet Luthero.

The Somnambulist

Created earlier this year, these works represent a window into the minds eye of  The Somnambulist, capturing the fleeting nature of a dream and the memory of a city.  That which can never be known, presence and absence in one.

Jack

Jack is a series from 2007 that marked the beginnings of my digital montage work.

This style initiated whilst creating graphics derived from my photographs to be applied to a screen printed T-shirt collection, and has now evolved in to my present day practice.

ESP

This is a logo i designed for ESP surfboards in Byron Bay Late last year.

Both the Owl and font are hand illustrated.

While i am on the surf theme,

This is my latest surfboard.

Hand shaped by Damo at Jade Fish, Byron Bay, with one of my illustrations.
It is the 4th board he has shaped and is amazing in the water!

If you are interested in one of these beautiful creations send me an email and i can get you in touch with damo. He is a true craftsman.

illustration

This piece is one of my favorites that has traveled the world with me.

It was around 2001 that i created this work whilst living in New York.
Illustrated with ink and permaset markers, upon a base of Nepalese grass paper.

I think it is due time that i frame this one.

One Life Photography Competition

A long time between posts it has been, i have good reason though.
I have embarked on the daunting task of editing and cataloging my past decade's work, which will quite probably take me a while to complete. That is assuming that it actually is possible to completely catalogue ones archive...

I will from time to time post my findings.

For the time being,
The reason behind today's post. I have entered myself in to the One Life Photography Competition, in association with PDN magazine and Artists Wanted.

Plexi

So i thought i would share one of my sculpture projects from the past.

These works came about when i was working in NYC as a photo assistant and helping out a friend with some set design. At the end of the shoot there were left these two sheets of 4' x 8', 1/4" plex, and a welding torch along with two full oxy acetylene tanks that didn't have to be returned for a week. So i took them home to have a play.

These are the results:
